I think I've mentioned before that I love Tim Burton movies and Nightmare Before Christmas is my favorite one! I had to do a Jack Skellington cake pop. What kind of fan would I be if I didn't?
What you'll need:
Lollipop sticks
White chocolate or white candy melts
Cake balls
Black Royal Icing
Black fondant
Black gumpaste, black edible paper, or black paper
Directions:
1. Follow the Cake Pop Tutorial instructions using white chocolate. Here is the link:
http://sugarturntable.com/?p=329
2. Cut out circles of black fondant and slightly clip cut one corner to give the eyes a little bit of shape. Using royal icing, attach the black eyes to the cake pop.
3. Using black royal icing, pipe the mouth.
4. Next, pipe two small lines for the nose.
5. Using either black gumpaste, black edible paper (found at most craft stores), or regular black paper (if you're not a purist and go for easy) cut out the bat shape bow-tie. Attach it to the lollipop stick with royal icing on the back side (use tape if you are using paper).
Keep the cake pops in styrofoam to set them standing up. Enjoy!

I'm such a fan of your blog posts!! I read this post and haven't stopped smiling – too gosh darn cute!!!
Okay, you’re not allowed to show these to Tim or Rheanna unless I decide I can actually make them because otherwise they will pester me and pester me to do them. Might be a fun surprise for Rheanna’s birthday.
Deal, Irene. PS I know you can do this. Its really simple.
I used to think something was wrong with me because I had more Halloween decorations than Christmas. Glad to know that I'm not alone in loving this holiday. Love the great ideas you've posted and can't wait to try them out.
You are certainly not alone!
Gasp! I must make these immediately. Do you KNOW how much my family loves this movie! We love Jack Skellington. In fact we decorate our entire front yard for Halloween to the Nightmare Before Christmas
Sounds like my kind of family!
Hi Kathryn,
Happy Halloween!
I came across your awesome cake pops in the Lil Sugar article featuring Halloween designs. I'm running a Halloween Cake Pop Contest right now & would love if you entered them, they are too cool for school!

Thanks for sharing your talent
I am a HUGE fan of Tim Burton and Nightmare Before Christmas is by far my favorite as well, though I love everything he's done! I made Nightmare cupcakes for my cousin once and she loved them, so I definitely will need to make these for her! They look AWESOME!!!
Hi,
i tried to make the black icing, but after piping the icing and put them in refridgerator, they melted in few minutes. Any suggestion?
