This is a tutorial at Woman's Day. I loved the idea. Those are actually chocolate covered sunflower seeds that you buy at the store. (I have passed that candy so many times and never knew it was sunflower seeds.) They make the perfect "leaves" for an Autumn themed cupcake. If you want to try something other than the licorice, then give tootsie rolls a shot. I would be curious to see if you could mold trees out of tootsie rolls, like clay. I'll be adding this idea to my to-do list.

I've used tootsie rolls for modeling before, but they have to be really warm. Same with starburst candies.
