Meringue Recipe


What you’ll need:

4 egg whites

pinch of salt

1/2 tsp cream of tartar

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (or 1  1/3 cups sugar)

1 tsp almond extract


Whip the egg whites, salt, almond extract, and cream of tarter until stiff peaks form.  Add the sugar and continue to whip until it is mixed well and stiff peaks form again.  Pipe meringue onto parchment paper or foil.  Bake at 275 degrees for 30 minutes.  Before the cookies are too browned, remove and let cool/harden.
