Kathryn, when you say “chill” do you mean as in putting in the refrigerator or, as I’ve seen some bakers do on TV, put in the freezer?
Refrigerator, although I do freeze shaped cakes because it holds their shape better… but refrigeration is sufficient for typical tiers.
