Did you know August 10th is National S’mores Day? I don’t know who creates these random holidays, but this is one I can get behind! So to celebrate this special day, here’s an easy S’mores Trifle recipe.
~~~~~~~~~
Ingredients
Mini marshmallows (for melting and decoration)
2-4 Tablespoons corn syrup
Chocolate chips (or chocolate chunks)
Chocolate Pudding
Chocolate squares
Gas match lighter
1. Crumble some graham crackers. You can make it as fine or chunky as you like.
2. Take your glass and fill it with a layer of graham cracker crumbs.
3. Put your marshmallows and corn syrup in a glass bowl and melt them in the microwave in 15 second increments (stirring in between each increment) until the mixture is totally smooth. The amount of corn syrup depends on how thick or thin you want the marshmallow cream. Add a marshmallow layer in your glass.
4. Sprinkle a layer of chocolate chips on top. Then add a layer of chocolate pudding (I use a plastic bag for this to keep the sides of the glass clean).
5. Add another layer of graham crackers, and add a small layer of marshmallow cream (just enough to keep stick the real marshmallows in place on top).
5. Take a lighter and lightly toast the marshmallows on top (be careful, they flame up pretty quickly).
6. Accent with a few squares of chocolate and you’re done!
Learn something new every day! Now I have the 10th to look forward to!
These look wonderful and very easy. Thanks so much for the idea. Can’t wait to try it. I even have all the ingredients in the pantry, so I better get going.
Honestly, this is one of Caleb’s favorite desserts I’ve ever done… and the ingredients are usually on hand, so why not?!
Ohhh, yum! One of my new favorite holidays!
Can’t wait to try this recipe…
This looks absolutely YUMMY!! I will try this soon!! Thanks for sharing.
Hi!
Just saw your site today for the first time! I love it !
Do you provide the recipe’s (like the one above for S’more’s Triffle) with the “print” only for recipe without the colored pictures (which by the way are eligantly shown and easy to understand because of the pictures)?? I hate to copy the WHOLE PAGE and print it out just to get the recipe. Thanks and keep up the good work and good recipe’s and I am looking forward to receiving more (I signed up today).
Really good idea..will look into it and let you know!
Okay, I added a printer friendly button at the bottom of each post. The page needs to be completely loaded before you can pull it up, but it will pull up a box with the post in it. At the very top right hand side of the box you will see a place that says “remove images”. Click it and then click the printer button. Let me know how that works for you. Thanks for the suggestion!
